Abstract

Drug rash with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS syndrome) in a severe cutaneous drug reaction, which can be life threatening. Levofloxacin has not been reported in literature as a causative drug. We are presenting an exceptional case of levofloxacin-induced DRESS without eosinophilia and with positive patch-tests to levofloxacin.

Résumé

Le syndrome d’hypersensibilité médicamenteuse (drug rash with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms [DRESS syndrome]) est une toxidermie grave qui peut mettre en jeu le pronostic vital. Le DRESS syndrome n’a jamais été rapporté avec la levofloxacine. Nous rapportons un cas exceptionnel de DRESS syndrome induit par la lévofloxacine sans hyperéosinophilie et avec patch-test positif.
